The OSG 1430805 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting internal 3/8-16 UNC threads in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it combines wear resistance with reduced friction for cleaner thread engagement and longer tool life. The plug chamfer provides a gradual lead-in, making it well suited for through-hole tapping applications. With a 50-degree helix angle and 3 right-hand flutes, it efficiently evacuates chips upward out of the hole, reducing the risk of chip packing in deeper cuts.
