The OSG 1410103205 is a thread forming tap designed for M5x0.80 Metric Coarse threading in blind hole applications. Made from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, this tap cold-forms threads rather than cutting them, producing stronger threads with no chips to clear. The modified bottoming chamfer with 2 to 2.5 chamfered threads allows the tap to reach close to the bottom of a blind hole while maintaining controlled thread formation. With a 4H class of fit and D4 thread limit, it delivers consistent dimensional accuracy across production runs. Machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working in job shops and manufacturing environments are the primary users.

This tap is suited for threading blind holes in a broad range of workpiece materials, including alloy steel, carbon steel, die steel, hardened steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
