The OSG 1410102701 is a cobalt thread forming tap from the HY-PRO NRT series, designed for cold-forming internal M4x0.70 metric coarse threads without cutting. Rather than removing material, this tap displaces it, producing stronger threads with no chips to clear. The modified bottoming chamfer — 2 to 2.5 thread pitches — allows threading close to the bottom of blind holes. Steam oxide coating reduces friction and improves lubrication retention during the forming process. Overall length is 2.126 inches (54.00 mm) with a tapping depth of 0.772 inches (19.60 mm). Thread class of fit is 6H with a D6 thread limit, right-hand thread direction.
