The OSG 1410100405 is a thread forming tap designed for blind hole threading in metric coarse applications. Part of the HY-PRO NRT series, this bottoming chamfer tap uses a cold-forming process rather than cutting, displacing material to produce stronger, chip-free internal threads. It is manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiN coating to improve wear resistance and tool life. At 1.75 inches overall length with a tapping depth of 0.476 inches, it is suited for precision threading in tight work envelopes. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers.

This tap is rated for use in a broad range of materials including alloy steel, carbon steel, die steel, hardened steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. The bottoming chamfer with 1 to 1.5 chamfered threads allows threading close to the bottom of blind holes where standard or plug chamfer taps cannot reach. Installation Notes
