The OSG 1400114605 is a thread forming tap designed for blind hole threading in a wide range of metallic materials. It carries an 8-32 UNC thread specification with a modified bottoming chamfer of 2 to 2.5 threads, making it suited for threading close to the bottom of a blind hole without cutting chips. The tap is manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating to extend tool life and reduce friction during the forming process. Overall length is 2.125 inches with a thread length of 0.374 inches and a tapping depth of 0.752 inches.
