The OSG 1312500 is a standard pipe tap designed to cut National Pipe Taper Fuel (NPTF) threads in a 1/16-27 configuration. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this tap produces a pressure-tight, dryseal thread without the need for a sealant when properly used. It features 4 flutes with a regular hook geometry and is sized for small-diameter pipe fittings common in fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. With an overall length of approximately 2.13 inches and a thread length of 11/16 inches, it fits standard tap handles and machine setups. Licensed machinists, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians rely on this tap for precision thread-cutting in tight clearance applications.
The OSG 1312500 is suited for threading carbon steel, cast iron, and aluminum workpieces. For hand tapping, use a properly sized tap wrench and advance the tap in short increments, backing off periodically to break chips.
