The OSG 1207408 is a spiral point tap designed for cutting 6-32 UNC internal threads in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a plug chamfer and 2-flute geometry, the spiral point pushes chips forward ahead of the tap, reducing chip clogging and supporting through-hole tapping applications. Built from high-speed steel and finished with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating, this tap delivers increased surface hardness and lubricity compared to uncoated HSS. Overall length is 2 inches with a thread length of 0.39 inches and a shank diameter of 0.141 inches. Class of fit is 3B with an H2 thread limit for controlled tolerance.
