The OSG 1206005 is a spiral point tap designed for threading 3-48 UNC holes in a wide range of metals. It features a plug chamfer, two flutes, and a titanium nitride (TiN) coating over a high-speed steel (HSS) body. The spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the cut, making it well suited for through-hole tapping where chip evacuation is critical. The H2 thread limit holds tight tolerances for a 2B class of fit. Overall length is 1.813 inches with a thread length of 0.496 inches and a shank diameter of 0.141 inches.

Secure the workpiece and ensure the pilot hole diameter matches the recommended tap drill size for 3-48 UNC before starting.
