The OSG 1136500 is a straight flute bottoming tap designed for cutting 1-12 UNF right-hand internal threads in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it features 4 flutes and a bottoming chamfer, making it the right choice when threads must extend to the bottom of a blind hole. At 5.125 inches overall length with a 2.5-inch thread length, this tap is sized for production and repair tapping operations on larger fastener applications. The H4 thread limit ensures consistent fit within the 3B class tolerance. Machinists and maintenance professionals use this tap in manual tapping heads, CNC rigid tapping setups, and hand-tapping operations.
This tap is suited for threading operations on aluminum, cast aluminum, cast iron, low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, and high-carbon steel. This tap should be installed by a qualified machinist familiar with tapping feeds, speeds, and cutting fluid requirements for the target material.
