The OSG 1025500 is a straight flute plug tap designed for cutting internal 12-24 UNC threads in a range of metals. It is built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish and features 4 flutes for efficient chip clearance. The plug chamfer configuration - typically 3 to 5 threads of lead - makes it suitable for through-hole and moderately deep blind-hole applications. With an overall length of 2-3/8 inches and a thread length of 15/16 inches, this tap fits standard toolholders used in manual tapping and machine tapping operations. Thread limit is H3, providing a 2B and 3B class of fit. Right-hand thread direction.

This tap is intended for production and maintenance tapping in ferrous and non-ferrous materials including aluminum, cast aluminum, cast iron, low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, and high-carbon steel.
