The OSBORN 0004702900 is a 4-inch silicon carbide crimped disc brush rated at 120 grit for fine-grade surface finishing and deburring work. It mounts via a plain hole connector with a 7/8-inch arbor hole and a 3/4-inch shank diameter, making it compatible with standard bench and angle grinders. The crimped filament design allows consistent abrasive contact across irregular surfaces, and the round 0.04-inch diameter filaments deliver controlled material removal without aggressive gouging. At a maximum operating speed of 3,500 RPM, this brush is built for controlled finishing passes on demanding materials.
This disc brush is suited for surface prep, light deburring, blending, and edge finishing on cast aluminum, hardened alloy, and stainless steel workpieces. It is commonly used in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and metalworking applications where a grinder-mounted abrasive brush is needed to reach contoured or recessed surfaces. The fine-grade silicon carbide abrasive cuts cleanly on hard metals without loading, making it a practical choice for finishing work that requires consistent scratch patterns.
Designed for use with grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor hole and 3/4-inch shank. Recommended material applications include cast aluminum, hardened alloy, and stainless steel.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the grinder manufacturer's mounting instructions. Confirm the grinder's rated RPM meets or exceeds the 3,500 RPM maximum before mounting. Always power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before installing or removing the brush. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during installation and operation.
