The OSBORN 0001147500 is a crimped stainless steel wheel brush designed for deburring, cleaning, and surface finishing on metal and other hard materials. Measuring 2.5 inches in outside diameter with a 7/16-inch face width and a 1/4-inch shank, this brush mounts directly into a drill, die grinder, or rotary tool. It is rated to a maximum of 20,000 RPM, making it well suited for high-speed power tool applications. The stainless steel fill material resists corrosion and is appropriate for work on stainless steel workpieces where carbon steel wire contamination must be avoided. The shank is included, so no separate arbor adapter is required.
This wheel brush is used in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and field service applications where controlled surface preparation is needed. Typical tasks include weld seam cleaning, rust and scale removal, paint stripping, and port or bore cleaning on metal components. The crimped wire construction provides a more flexible action than knotted wire, making it appropriate for moderate material removal and general-purpose surface conditioning rather than heavy aggressive stock removal. Licensed trades such as plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and electricians use this type of brush for cleaning pipe ends, connectors, and metal surfaces prior to brazing, soldering, or welding.
Designed for use with rotary tools, die grinders, and drill presses accepting a 1/4-inch shank; verify that the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the 20,000 RPM maximum rating of this brush before use.
Always confirm the host tool is rated at or above the maximum RPM of the brush before mounting. Power down and disconnect or lock out the tool before installing or removing the brush. Wear appropriate eye protection and a face shield when operating any wire wheel brush, as wire filaments can break loose during use. Follow applicable ANSI and OSHA requirements for abrasive and brushing tool safety when using this product in a professional setting.
