The ORTRONICS MCS6A07-06 is a Category 6A foil-shielded twisted pair (FTP) patch cord designed for structured cabling installations in commercial and enterprise environments. Built on 26 AWG conductors, this 7-foot cord delivers the performance headroom required for 10-Gigabit Ethernet applications. The blue jacket provides easy visual identification in dense patch panel configurations. Network technicians and low-voltage installers use this cord to terminate equipment connections at patch panels, switches, and network jacks in data centers, server rooms, and office cabling infrastructures.
This FTP patch cord is suited for horizontal and equipment-bay cabling in both new construction and retrofit projects. The Category 6A rating supports the full 500 MHz bandwidth required for 10GBase-T transmission up to 100 meters. The foil shielding provides added protection against alien crosstalk and electromagnetic interference, making it appropriate for environments with high cable density or proximity to power conduit runs. Low-voltage cabling contractors and IT infrastructure technicians are the primary installers.
Designed as an OEM-style patch cord for use with Category 6A-rated patch panels, keystone jacks, and shielded RJ45 network equipment ports in structured cabling systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or qualified IT cabling professional in accordance with ANSI/TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Avoid sharp bends below the minimum bend radius and do not cinch cable ties so tightly that the jacket deforms, as either condition can degrade Cat6A performance. Ensure both ends of the FTP cord are properly terminated to grounded shielded connectors or patch panels to maintain shielding continuity throughout the link.
