The ORTRONICS LN-SFP10G-AOC-15M is a 10G SFP+ active optical cable (AOC) designed for high-speed data transmission in structured cabling and network infrastructure environments. Active optical cables combine the SFP+ transceiver modules and fiber optic cable into a single integrated assembly, eliminating the need for separate transceivers and patch cables. At 15 meters in length, this cable is suited for medium-distance intra-rack and inter-rack connections where copper direct-attach cables fall short. Licensed network technicians and low-voltage cabling contractors are the primary installers of this assembly.
This AOC is used in data center, enterprise networking, and telecommunications applications where 10 Gigabit Ethernet or 10G Fibre Channel connectivity is required over distances beyond the reach of passive copper DAC cables. The integrated design simplifies deployment in server-to-switch, switch-to-switch, and storage area network (SAN) interconnects. The MSA-compatible designation indicates conformance to industry-standard form factor and electrical specifications, supporting interoperability with a broad range of 10G-capable switching and routing platforms.
Designed as an MSA-compatible replacement and interoperable solution for use with 10G SFP+ ports on switches, routers, servers, and storage devices that accept standard SFP+ active optical cables.
Installation is performed by licensed network technicians or low-voltage cabling contractors following applicable TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Power down or administratively disable the host port before inserting or removing the SFP+ module to prevent damage to the optical assembly. Do not bend the cable beyond its minimum bend radius, and keep dust caps in place on unused ends until ready for installation. Handle the optical ferrule ends with care and clean with approved fiber optic cleaning tools before mating.
