The ORTRONICS LM4-LC12J is a fiber optic cassette designed for structured cabling systems that require high-density MPO-to-LC connectivity. This M4-series cassette converts a single 12-fiber MPO connector (male pinned) on the rear to six LC duplex ports on the front, supporting OS2 single-mode fiber throughout. It is used in data centers, telecom rooms, and enterprise backbone installations where technicians need a clean, modular breakout solution inside a fiber distribution or patching enclosure.
This cassette is suited for single-mode OS2 backbone runs where 12 fibers need to be broken out to individual LC duplex circuits. Typical installations include horizontal or backbone cabling in commercial and enterprise environments. The MPO male (pinned) rear interface mates with standard MTP or MPO trunk cables, while the front LC duplex ports connect directly to active equipment or patch panels. Network infrastructure technicians and low-voltage cabling contractors are the primary installers of this type of hardware.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit cassette for M4-compatible fiber optic enclosures and patch shelves that accept MPO-to-LC breakout modules.
This cassette is installed by low-voltage cabling technicians or network infrastructure contractors in accordance with TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Before inserting or removing the cassette, ensure all connected fiber circuits are taken offline and laser sources are disabled, as OS2 single-mode systems may carry invisible infrared signals that can cause eye injury. Clean all fiber end-faces with an appropriate fiber optic cleaner before mating connectors. Do not exceed the minimum bend radius of the fiber when routing patch cords to the LC front ports.
