The ORTRONICS KT2J6-36 is a Cat6 keystone jack designed for structured cabling installations in commercial and residential buildings. This blue-colored insert terminates Cat6 unshielded twisted-pair cable and snaps into standard keystone-style faceplates, patch panels, and surface-mount boxes. The jack provides the termination point between horizontal cable runs and end-user equipment outlets. It is installed by low-voltage cabling technicians and data communications contractors as part of a complete structured cabling system built to TIA-568 standards.
The KT2J6-36 is used in horizontal cabling applications where Cat6 performance is required. Typical installations include office network drops, data center patch fields, and building telecommunications rooms. The blue color aids in port identification and cable management when multiple jacks of different categories or uses are installed in the same faceplate or panel. It ships as a single unit, allowing installers to stock and deploy individual jacks as needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation keystone jack for use in standard keystone-compatible faceplates, surface-mount boxes, and patch panels.
Installation is performed by qualified low-voltage cabling technicians following TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Terminate cable conductors using the appropriate 110-style punch-down tool; de-energize any active equipment connected to the circuit before working on live patch fields. Follow local building codes and NEC Article 800 requirements for communications wiring. Verify conductor pair assignments match the wiring scheme in use (T568A or T568B) consistently throughout the installation.
