The ORTRONICS AJCC is a copper antioxidant compound supplied in a 0.5-ounce packet. Antioxidant compounds are applied to copper electrical connections before termination to prevent oxidation at the contact interface. Oxidation on copper conductors increases resistance at the joint, which leads to heat buildup and potential connection failure over time. This compound creates a protective barrier that maintains low-resistance contact between mating copper surfaces. It is typically applied by electricians and low-voltage installers during termination work on copper wiring, lugs, bus bars, and connector hardware.
This product is suited for use in residential and commercial electrical installations wherever copper-to-copper or copper-to-aluminum connections require oxidation protection. Common applications include panel terminations, service entrance connections, distribution boards, and structured cabling hardware installations. It is sold as a single-use packet, making it practical for field use and service calls where controlled application is needed.
Designed for use with copper electrical connections and termination hardware in standard residential and commercial wiring applications.
Apply by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for connection preparation. De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage with a meter before applying compound and making any terminations. Apply a thin, even coating to the conductor or lug surface before seating the connection. Avoid over-application, as excess compound can attract contaminants at the connection point.
