The ORTRONICS AJCA is an antioxidant compound formulated for use on aluminum electrical connections. Antioxidant compounds are applied to aluminum conductors and terminations to prevent oxidation, which can increase resistance and generate heat at connection points over time. This product ships in a 0.5 oz unit, making it well suited for field use, single-connection service calls, or inclusion in an electrician's service kit. Electricians and electrical contractors use antioxidant compound as a standard practice when terminating aluminum wiring to prevent long-term connection degradation.
Antioxidant aluminum compound is used in residential and light commercial electrical work wherever aluminum conductors are terminated at lugs, breakers, panels, meter bases, or service entrance equipment. It is applied directly to the conductor or termination surface before completing the connection. The 0.5 oz size is practical for single-point applications or low-volume service work where a full tube is not required.
Designed for use with aluminum electrical conductors and terminations in standard residential and commercial electrical installations.
Applied by a licensed electrician during aluminum conductor termination. Always de-energize the circuit and follow NFPA 70 (NEC) lockout/tagout procedures before working on any electrical connection. Apply a thin, even coat of compound to the conductor or termination surface before seating the connection. Do not substitute antioxidant compound for proper torque procedures at lugs and terminals.
