The OREGON TOOL S56 is a 16-inch semi-chisel chainsaw chain built for small to mid-size gas saws up to 42 cc. It runs on a 3/8-inch pitch with a .050-inch (1.3 mm) gauge and features hard-chromed cutters that resist wear and deliver consistent wood bite through extended cutting sessions. Precision heat treatment gives the cutters a higher tolerance for debris, making this chain a practical choice for landscapers and homeowners working in brush, yard cleanup, and light to moderate felling tasks. The built-in Lubri-Tec automatic oiling system delivers oil to key contact points, reducing friction and extending chain service life between adjustments.
The S56 is designed for all chainsaw brands sized to accept a 3/8-inch pitch, .050-inch gauge narrow kerf chain. It is best suited for small, lower-powered saws used in residential and light commercial landscaping. Typical applications include pruning, limbing, storm cleanup, and cutting firewood. This chain must be paired with a narrow kerf bar; do not use it on standard kerf bars. Landscapers running compact saws will find the low-kickback, low-vibration design reduces fatigue during longer work periods.
Fits all chainsaw brands configured for 3/8-inch pitch, .050-inch (1.3 mm) gauge narrow kerf chain on bars up to 16 inches. Suitable for saws up to 42 cc. Must be used with a narrow kerf bar only.
Chain installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified technician or an experienced operator following the saw manufacturer's service guidelines. Always power down and remove the spark plug boot before handling the chain or bar. Use appropriate cut-resistant gloves when handling chainsaw chain. After installation, verify proper tension and lubrication flow before resuming cutting operations.
