The OREGON TOOL S50 is a 14-inch semi-chisel chainsaw chain built for consistent cutting performance on small to mid-size gas saws. It features a hard-chromed cutter with precision heat treatment, delivering a smooth cut even when debris is present in the wood. The chain runs on a 3/8-inch pitch and 0.050-inch gauge, making it compatible with a wide range of consumer and light-duty professional saws up to 42 cc. Hardened rivets and the chrome outer layer reduce wear over time, helping extend service intervals. The built-in Lubri-Tec oiling system channels bar oil to critical chain contact points during operation, cutting down on dry-running wear and maintenance downtime.
The S50 is designed for landscapers, grounds maintenance crews, and homeowners who run small, lower-powered chainsaws. Typical applications include limbing, bucking small-diameter logs, brush clearing, and general property maintenance. The low-kickback, low-vibration design reduces user fatigue during extended cutting sessions, making it well suited for repetitive cutting tasks. This chain is intended for use with narrow-kerf guide bars only and should not be paired with standard-kerf bar designs.
Designed for all chainsaw brands running a 3/8-inch pitch and 0.050-inch gauge. Suitable for saw engines up to 42 cc. Must be used with narrow-kerf guide bars only.
Chain installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified technician or experienced operator with the saw engine off, the ignition disabled, and cut-resistant gloves on. Verify bar groove width matches the 0.050-inch gauge before fitting. After installation, check tension and confirm the drive links seat properly in the bar groove before first use. Always consult the saw manufacturer's service manual and applicable ANSI B175.1 guidelines for chain replacement procedures.
