The ORBIT IRRIGATION PRODUCTS INC 37217 is a riser extension adapter designed to connect underground irrigation pipe to above-ground sprinkler heads. It features a 1/2-inch male inlet and a 3/4-inch male outlet, allowing it to bridge common pipe-to-head size transitions in residential and commercial irrigation layouts. The adapter is constructed from sturdy plastic and is intended for standard intermittent-use irrigation systems. It is not rated for use under continuous pressure, so it must be installed only in systems that cycle on and off as part of a timer-controlled or manual irrigation zone. Irrigation technicians and landscape pros handle this type of fitting as part of routine head installation or riser replacement work.
This adapter is used in in-ground sprinkler systems where a size transition is needed between the lateral supply pipe and the sprinkler head riser. It suits residential lawn irrigation and commercial grounds-maintenance irrigation layouts. Typical installations involve attaching the adapter to a threaded fitting at the top of a swing pipe or direct-burial lateral, then threading the sprinkler head onto the 3/4-inch male end. It is sold individually and is well suited for repair, replacement, or new zone buildout work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for residential and light commercial in-ground sprinkler systems using 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch threaded pipe connections. Adapts standard underground lateral pipe to common sprinkler head risers.
Installation is performed by irrigation technicians or licensed plumbing contractors familiar with low-pressure irrigation systems. Shut off the irrigation zone valve and relieve any residual pressure in the lateral before threading the adapter into place. Do not use this adapter in any application where the line remains under continuous static pressure, such as a pressurized mainline. Hand-tighten threaded connections and apply PTFE tape to threads to prevent leaks at the joint.
