The ORBIT INDUSTRIES SNR-1420 is a steel regular spring nut designed for use inside strut channel systems. It accepts a 1/4-20 threaded rod or bolt and uses spring tension to lock the nut against the internal edges of the channel, keeping it firmly positioned during installation. Electricians and contractors use this hardware to mount or hang outlet boxes, light fixtures, and other electrical devices from strut channel runs. The spring mechanism eliminates the need for a separate fastener to hold the nut in place before final tightening, speeding up installation on overhead and wall-mounted strut assemblies.
This spring nut is suited for commercial and residential electrical installations where strut channel is used as a support structure. Common applications include suspending outlet boxes and fixture mounts from threaded rod drop assemblies, securing enclosures to unistrut-style channel, and attaching hardware in panel and conduit support systems. It is intended for use by licensed electricians and general contractors working with standard strut channel framing systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use spring nut for residential and commercial strut channel support systems accepting 1/4-20 threaded fasteners.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC guidelines for support and securing of electrical equipment. De-energize all circuits in the work area before mounting boxes or fixtures to the strut assembly. Insert the spring nut into the strut channel slot, position it under the desired mounting point, then thread the rod or bolt into the nut and tighten to secure. Do not overtighten to the point of collapsing the spring mechanism or distorting the channel.
