The ORBIT INDUSTRIES RN-400-1200 is a steel rigid conduit nipple designed to connect two junction boxes through threaded knockout openings. It uses standard locknuts to secure the connection and is compatible with both rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) systems. At 4 inches trade size and 12 inches in length, this nipple provides a short, direct pathway for conductors between enclosures. The all-metal construction delivers mechanical protection for the wiring inside. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this type of fitting in commercial, industrial, and residential wiring applications where code-compliant conduit runs are required.
This conduit nipple is suited for use in conduit installations where two enclosures — such as junction boxes, panel enclosures, or outlet boxes — are mounted in close proximity. The threaded ends engage standard RMC and IMC knockout openings and are secured with locknuts on each side. It is a common fitting in commercial panel rooms, industrial equipment connections, and residential service installations where a short rigid conduit span is needed between boxes.
Designed for use with threaded rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) systems at 4 inches trade size. Installs in standard knockout openings and is secured with locknuts.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 344 for rigid metal conduit or Article 342 for IMC. De-energize all circuits in the affected enclosures before beginning work. Use appropriate conduit wrenches to engage threads fully and apply listed locknuts on both sides to secure the nipple in the knockout openings. Do not over-tighten to the point of stripping threads.
