This connector is installed anywhere an electrician needs to terminate unthreaded rigid metal conduit or IMC at a junction box, panel enclosure, or other electrical enclosure. Typical applications include outdoor service entrances, industrial raceways, and wet-location installations where a weatherproof termination is required. By eliminating the threading step, the connector reduces installation time and labor cost on the job site. Designed as an OEM-style compression connector for use with 2-inch trade-size unthreaded rigid metal conduit (RMC) or intermediate metal conduit (IMC) terminating at electrical boxes or enclosures in wet or dry locations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for rigid metal conduit systems. Power must be shut off and the circuit de-energized before making any conduit connections to an energized enclosure or panel. The compression nut should be tightened with an appropriate wrench to achieve a secure, rain-tight fit without over-tightening the malleable iron body. Verify the conduit end is clean and free of burrs before insertion to ensure a proper seal and smooth wire pull.
