The ORBIT INDUSTRIES IGBB-5 is an intersystem grounding and bonding bridge designed to create a reliable electrical bond between power grounding systems and communication grounding systems. Constructed from zinc, this bridge mounts to any wall surface and accommodates a wide range of conductor sizes: a No. 6 to No. 2 AWG grounding conductor in the central hole and a No. 14 to No. 4 AWG bonding conductor in the side hole. A removable plastic cover is included to protect the bridge from the elements, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. UL-listed under File Number E488666.
This intersystem bonding bridge is used wherever NEC requirements call for a dedicated bonding point that ties together electrical service grounding and low-voltage or communication system grounds. Typical applications include residential and light commercial service entrances where telephone, cable TV, satellite, or other communication system grounds must bond to the building grounding electrode system. Electricians install this bridge at or near the service entrance panel or meter base to satisfy code-required bonding between systems.
Designed as an OEM-style intersystem bonding bridge for residential and light commercial electrical installations requiring a dedicated grounding and bonding point between power and communication systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for intersystem bonding. De-energize the affected circuits and verify with a meter before making any conductor connections. Mount the bridge securely to a wall surface at or near the service entrance location. Attach the plastic cover after wiring is complete to protect terminations from moisture and debris.
