The ORBIT INDUSTRIES BCSS is a spring steel beam clamp designed for fast, tool-light attachment to structural beam flanges in commercial and industrial installations. It accepts a 1/4 inch threaded rod through its primary hole and features a 7/16 inch hole for rod or attachment hardware. The clamp seats on beam flanges up to 1/2 inch thick, holding position through the natural tension of the spring steel construction. Electricians and mechanical contractors use this clamp to hang conduit, cable trays, HVAC duct supports, and other suspended systems from wide-flange or I-beam structures without drilling or welding.
The BCSS is suited for use in commercial and industrial building construction where threaded rod suspension systems are attached to exposed structural steel. Typical applications include hanging electrical conduit runs, cable tray supports, pipe hangers, and light mechanical equipment from beam flanges in open-ceiling environments. The back hole and bottom hole allow for a variety of attachment configurations, giving installers flexibility when routing multiple services from a single beam.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use beam clamp compatible with standard structural steel beam flanges up to 1/2 inch thick in commercial and industrial suspension systems using 1/4 inch threaded rod.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or mechanical contractors working with suspended system frameworks. Verify that the beam flange thickness does not exceed 1/2 inch before seating the clamp. Confirm that the intended load is within the rated capacity of the clamp and threaded rod assembly per applicable NEC or building code requirements. Do not overtighten attached hardware beyond the clamp's designed flex range, as spring steel components can deform if forced beyond their mechanical limits.
