The ORBIT INDUSTRIES 4SB-50/75 is a 4-inch square (4S) welded steel electrical box measuring 1.5 inches deep. It ships with both 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch knockouts (KOs) pre-formed in the enclosure walls, giving installers flexibility for conduit entry sizing without field modification. This box is a standard device and junction box used in residential and light commercial wiring installations. Licensed electricians install this box as a flush or surface-mounted enclosure to house wiring connections, outlet devices, or as a pull point in conduit runs. The welded construction provides a solid, rigid enclosure that holds its shape during installation and concrete pour applications.
The 4SB-50/75 is suited for use in new construction and retrofit electrical work where a standard 4-inch square box is required. Typical applications include drywall, masonry, and concrete installations where the box is set into a wall or ceiling assembly. The dual knockout sizing makes it compatible with both 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch conduit systems, covering the most common trade conduit sizes used in branch circuit wiring. This box is frequently used with mud rings or raised covers to bring the device to finished surface level.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard new-construction fit for 4-inch square electrical box applications requiring 1.5-inch depth with 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch knockout configurations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) codes. De-energize all circuits at the breaker panel before making any wiring connections inside the box. Knockouts should be removed cleanly using a screwdriver and hammer or a dedicated knockout punch to avoid deforming the enclosure wall. Verify box fill capacity per NEC Article 314 before pulling conductors to ensure the 1.5-inch depth is adequate for the conductor count and size.
