The ORBIT INDUSTRIES 4RDB-MKO-FB is a 16-gauge sheet steel switch box designed for standard electrical rough-in work in both residential and commercial applications. Measuring 4 inches x 4 inches x 2-1/8 inches, this box provides adequate cubic-inch capacity for device and junction wiring. It ships with a mounting bracket (MKO style) already included, making it a ready-to-install solution for wall and ceiling rough-in. The knockout layout accommodates a range of conduit entry configurations, giving electricians flexibility when routing branch-circuit conductors. The steel construction meets typical code requirements for metallic enclosures in wiring installations.
This switch box is suited for residential new construction, remodel work, and light commercial wiring projects. The included flat bracket (FB) allows for straightforward stud or framing attachment during rough-in. The multiple knockout options on the sides and bottom allow entry from several directions, accommodating both EMT and rigid metal conduit runs. Licensed electricians installing branch-circuit devices, junction points, or low-voltage rough-in assemblies will find this box compatible with standard 4-inch square device covers and mud rings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard rough-in enclosure compatible with 4-inch square device covers, mud rings, and raised covers used in residential and commercial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for metallic enclosures and box fill calculations. De-energize all circuits at the panel before making any connections inside the box. Secure the box firmly to framing using the included bracket before pulling conductors. Verify knockout entries are properly deburred before inserting conduit or cable connectors to protect conductor insulation.
