The OPTICAL CABLE CORP. P8SCUPC12-3M is a 12-fiber singlemode pigtail assembly terminated with SC/UPC connectors and factory-cleaved to a 3-meter length. Pigtail assemblies are used to splice or connect optical fiber runs inside enclosures, patch panels, and distribution frames. Each fiber is individually terminated, allowing technicians to bring multiple strands out of a splice tray or fiber management unit to a structured patch field. The SC/UPC connector profile delivers low back-reflection performance suited to singlemode transmission applications. Installation is performed by licensed low-voltage cabling technicians and data communications professionals.
This assembly is designed for structured fiber optic cabling installations in commercial buildings, data centers, and telecommunications rooms. The 12-fiber count and 3-meter length make it a practical choice for mid-density patch panels and wall-mount enclosures where factory-terminated pigtails are spliced to incoming fiber cable plant. The SC/UPC interface is compatible with standard SC-port patch panels, fiber distribution hubs, and active equipment with SC-type optical ports.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation pigtail for singlemode SC/UPC fiber optic patch panels, splice enclosures, and fiber distribution frames accepting standard SC-type connectors.
Pigtail assemblies are installed by qualified low-voltage or fiber optic technicians following TIA-568 and TIA-526 standards. Before splicing, ensure the fiber enclosure is de-energized and any active optical sources on the link are powered down or disconnected. Handle the SC/UPC ferrule ends with care and use approved fiber cleaning tools before mating connectors to avoid contamination-related insertion loss. Fusion splicing of the bare fiber ends to the cable plant should be performed with a calibrated fusion splicer and documented with splice loss records.
