The OPTICAL CABLE CORP. FSCS812DSCP is a single-mode fiber optic splice cassette designed for organized, high-density fiber termination and splicing in structured cabling installations. This cassette accommodates 12 fibers and provides 6 DSC (duplex SC) ports, allowing technicians to transition from loose tube or tight-buffered fiber to a patched, connectorized distribution point. It is used in telecommunications rooms, data centers, and campus backbone infrastructure. Licensed low-voltage cabling technicians and fiber optic specialists are the primary installers of this component.
This splice cassette fits into standard fiber optic enclosures and patch panels used in commercial and enterprise network infrastructure. It supports single-mode fiber applications, making it suitable for longer-distance runs across campus, inter-building, or backbone segments. Where fiber counts and port density must be managed in a compact form, this cassette provides a structured housing for splice protection and port access. It is sold individually as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit component for fiber optic enclosures and patch panel chassis accepting splice cassettes with DSC port configurations.
Installation is performed by licensed low-voltage or fiber optic cabling technicians following TIA-568 and related structured cabling standards. Before installing or servicing fiber optic components, ensure the fiber link is dark and laser sources are powered off to prevent eye hazard. Handle fiber ends with appropriate cleaving and cleaning tools, and secure all splice protectors within the cassette tray before closing the enclosure. Inspect connector end-faces with a fiber inspection scope prior to mating.
