The OPTEX cx-702 is a passive infrared (PIR) motion detector engineered for long-range detection in commercial and industrial interior environments. Built around patented Multi-Focus technology, it maintains consistent sensitivity across the full coverage area even in high-temperature conditions or applications with low temperature contrast between the target and the background. Double Conductive Shielding combined with Temperature Compensation delivers a high level of false alarm rejection. A selectable lens pattern lets installers flip between a 70-foot by 70-foot wide-area coverage and a 150-foot by 8-foot long-corridor pattern, making it adaptable to a wide range of facility layouts.
The cx-702 is suited for commercial and industrial interior installations such as warehouses, large retail floors, corridors, and manufacturing facilities where conventional short-range detectors fall short. The selectable pattern feature allows a single device to serve both wide-space and narrow-corridor applications without changing hardware. Licensed security system installers and low-voltage technicians are the primary trades that deploy this detector as part of a broader intrusion detection system.
Designed as a commercial-grade PIR detector for use with standard intrusion detection control panels that accept normally closed or normally open dry-contact zone inputs, typical of commercial security system installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or alarm installer in accordance with local electrical codes and the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. Power down the associated control panel zone before wiring the detector. Select the appropriate lens pattern for the coverage area before final mounting, as repositioning after ceiling or wall installation may require remounting. Verify tamper and anti-mask features are enabled per the panel configuration requirements.
