The OMNICABLE 29526c is a variable frequency drive (VFD) cable built for AC motor drive applications requiring reliable shielded power transmission. It features three 4 AWG (7x12 stranding) bare copper conductors with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPO) insulation, paired with a 6 AWG symmetrical segmented ground consisting of three 12 AWG bare copper stranded conductors. A dual copper tape helically applied shield provides effective EMI attenuation critical in VFD installations. The black PVC outer jacket offers oil resistance and suits both dry and wet environments. Voltage ratings are 600V TC-ER and 1000V CSA AWM I/II A/B, with a temperature rating of 90 degrees C in both dry and wet conditions.
This cable is designed for use in AC motor drive and variable frequency drive systems where controlled impedance, symmetrical grounding, and robust shielding are required to suppress reflected wave and common-mode noise. It is appropriate for industrial and commercial installations where the cable runs between a VFD controller and the driven motor. The TC-ER rating supports tray cable use without continuous metallic conduit where permitted by code, and the sunlight-resistant, direct-burial-rated jacket suits exposed or underground routing in applicable installations.
Designed for use with AC motor drives and variable frequency drive systems requiring shielded, symmetrically grounded VFD cable per TC-ER and CSA AWM I/II A/B listings.
Installation of VFD cable should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC, including applicable provisions for tray cable (TC-ER) installations. De-energize the VFD system and verify absence of voltage before terminating conductors or ground connections. Maintain consistent bend radius and avoid sharp bends that could compromise the shield integrity. Terminate the symmetrical segmented ground conductors per the drive and motor manufacturer grounding requirements to ensure effective common-mode noise control.
