The OMEGAFLEX FGP-CS-500-500 is a black-jacketed, stainless steel corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) designed for residential and commercial gas distribution systems. Rated at 125 psi, this 1/2-inch diameter tubing ships in a 500-foot coil with male pipe thread (MPT) connections on both ends. The non-annealed stainless steel construction makes this tubing more crush-resistant than standard annealed CSST and easier to cut cleanly in the field. The black jacket provides significantly enhanced lightning protection compared to traditional bonded yellow CSST, with up to 400 times greater resistance to electrical energy damage. Licensed gas fitters and plumbers install this product in fuel gas piping systems where flexible routing is required.
This tubing is suited for indoor and outdoor natural gas and propane distribution installations in residential, light commercial, and commercial construction. The flexible design lays straighter and pulls through framing, conduit pathways, and tight spaces with less effort than rigid pipe, reducing labor time on longer runs. The 500-foot coil length makes it practical for new construction projects requiring continuous runs or multiple branch connections from a single coil. MPT x MPT end fittings allow direct connection to manifolds, meters, or fitting assemblies using standard threaded gas fittings.
Designed for use in flexible gas piping systems for natural gas and propane applications, suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations where CSST meeting ANSI LC 1-2005 and UL standards is specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with applicable local codes, IFGC requirements, and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Shut off gas supply and verify zero pressure at the work point before making any connections. Support and protect tubing runs per code to prevent abrasion or mechanical damage, and ensure all threaded connections are properly sealed with an approved thread sealant rated for gas service. Do not use this tubing in applications that exceed its rated pressure or temperature limits.
