The OLYMPIC/PPG ARCHITECTURAL FIN 55548XIA/01 is a clear, water-based waterproofer sealant formulated with an acrylic resin base. It penetrates the surface rather than forming a thick film coat, delivering two-way protection against water intrusion and mildew growth on the film. The formula carries a VOC content of less than 100 grams per liter, making it compliant with many low-VOC coating regulations. It cleans up with water, reducing solvent handling on the job. Coverage ranges from 100 to 350 square feet per gallon depending on surface porosity. This product is applied by licensed contractors and experienced trade professionals working on exterior restoration and waterproofing projects.
This sealant is suited for exterior applications on a wide range of porous and semi-porous surfaces including concrete, brick, stucco, masonry, grout, mortar, terrazzo, wood, wood shingles, pressure-treated wood, wood decks, and outdoor wood furniture. It is commonly used in residential and light commercial exterior maintenance where a clear, non-film-building waterproof barrier is required. The penetrating formula is well suited for surfaces where maintaining the natural appearance of the substrate is a priority.
Designed for use on exterior porous surfaces including concrete, brick, stucco, masonry, grout, mortar, terrazzo, wood, wood shingles, pressure-treated wood, wood decks, and outdoor wood furniture. Not intended for use on interior surfaces or non-porous substrates.
Application is typically performed by painting or waterproofing contractors. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of existing coatings, efflorescence, and loose material before application. Follow all local building and coating regulations regarding VOC compliance and surface preparation requirements. Apply in appropriate temperature and humidity conditions as specified on the product label; avoid application in direct sunlight on hot surfaces or when rain is forecasted within the cure window.
