The OETIKER 16703053 is a single-ear stepless hose clamp designed for secure, permanent connections on hoses and tubing in HVAC, plumbing, and fluid-handling applications. Constructed from stainless steel, the clamp delivers corrosion resistance in wet and harsh service environments. It features a nominal inside diameter of 2-1/8 inches, a band width of 7 mm, and a band thickness of 0.6 mm. The ear-type design is crimped with a pincers tool, creating a vibration-resistant, 360-degree compressive seal without sharp edges that could damage hose material. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors typically specify this clamp type where a non-removable, low-profile connection is required.
This clamp is suited for residential and light commercial installations where a 2-1/8 inch nominal hose connection must be secured reliably. Common applications include condensate drain lines, coolant hoses, PEX and rubber tubing terminations, and similar assemblies requiring a tamper-resistant, single-use fastener. The stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for both indoor and outdoor installations where moisture exposure is expected.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation ear clamp for 2-1/8 inch nominal hose and tubing assemblies in HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical systems.
Installation requires an Oetiker-style ear clamp pincers or pincer tool rated for the band width; do not attempt to crimp with standard pliers, as uneven force will produce an unreliable seal. Slide the clamp onto the hose before inserting the fitting, position the ear away from any obstruction, then crimp the ear fully in a single stroke. Ensure the hose is fully seated on the barb or fitting before crimping, as ear clamps are single-use and cannot be reopened without cutting. Follow applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the fluid service being connected.
