The OETIKER 16700079-100 is a single-ear clamp designed for secure, permanent hose and tubing connections in plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-handling applications. The ear-style design is crimped with a pincer tool, creating a tamper-evident, vibration-resistant seal that cannot be loosened without cutting. The clamp is manufactured from stainless steel, providing corrosion resistance in wet or chemically active environments. With a nominal size of 3-1/8 inches, a band width of 7 millimeters, and a band thickness of 0.6 millimeters, this clamp suits tubing connections where a low-profile, reliable closure is required. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors routinely specify ear clamps for barbed fitting assemblies in refrigerant lines, coolant hoses, and potable water systems.
This clamp is well suited for residential and light commercial installations where barbed fittings are used on flexible tubing or hose. Common applications include PEX tubing transitions, HVAC condensate drain connections, coolant line assemblies, and pneumatic hose terminations. The 3-1/8 inch nominal size accommodates hose and tubing in that diameter range, making it a standard choice for moderate-diameter assemblies across multiple trades. Always verify the actual outside diameter of the hose and the barb geometry before selecting a clamp size.
Designed as an OEM-style ear clamp for use with barbed fittings and flexible hose or tubing at a nominal diameter of 3-1/8 inches across plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-handling assemblies.
Installation requires an Oetiker-compatible pincer or ear clamp crimping tool — do not attempt to seat the ear with pliers, as uneven force will compromise the seal. Shut off and depressurize any fluid or pneumatic system before removing an existing clamp or installing a new one. Inspect the barb fitting and hose end for cuts, deformation, or debris before crimping. Once crimped, the ear clamp is a single-use fastener and must be cut off for removal.
