The OETIKER 16700016-100 is a single-ear hose clamp designed for permanent, low-profile connections on flexible tubing and hose assemblies. The ear is crimped shut with a pincer tool, creating a 360-degree radial clamping force that prevents loosening from vibration or thermal cycling. The band measures 7 mm wide and 0.60 mm thick, and the nominal clamp size is 5/8 inch. Constructed from stainless steel throughout, this clamp resists corrosion in wet, refrigerant-adjacent, or chemically active environments. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and automotive-fluid techs use this style of clamp where a standard worm-drive or spring clamp would add too much bulk or require re-torquing over time.
Ear clamps in the 5/8 inch nominal size are commonly used on low-pressure coolant lines, condensate drain tubing, radiant heating supply and return connections, potable water flexible fittings, and refrigerant-side accessory lines. Shut off fluid flow and relieve any line pressure before removing an existing clamp or seating a new one. Follow applicable codes such as the International Plumbing Code or manufacturer assembly guidelines for hose-barb engagement depth before crimping. Inspect the crimped ear after installation to confirm the ear is fully closed with no visible gap.
