The OETIKER 10100008-100 is a 2-ear stepless clamp designed for secure, permanent hose and tubing connections in plumbing, HVAC, automotive, and fluid-handling applications. Manufactured from carbon steel with a zinc-plated head coating, this clamp provides corrosion resistance in demanding service environments. The band measures 7.00 mm wide and 1.00 mm thick, with a clamping range of 7.00 mm to 9.00 mm, making it suited for nominal 5/16-inch connections. Installation is performed using a dedicated ear-clamp pincer tool that cold-forms the ear for a permanent, leak-free seal. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-system assemblers routinely specify this style of clamp where reusable worm-drive clamps are not acceptable.
This clamp is used in residential and light commercial installations wherever a low-profile, tamper-resistant connection is required. Typical applications include PEX tubing transitions, refrigeration line insulation fittings, fuel and coolant hose assemblies, and pneumatic tubing connections. The 2-ear design provides uniform radial clamping force across the hose OD without requiring a ratcheting tool. It is well suited for tight-clearance installations where a conventional screw clamp cannot be positioned or torqued correctly.

Installation requires a dedicated ear-clamp pincer or pince-type crimping tool matched to the ear geometry — do not substitute with pliers, as improper deformation can result in leaks or clamp failure. Shut off fluid supply and depressurize or de-energize the system before servicing any hose or tubing connection. Verify that the hose OD falls within the 7.00 mm to 9.00 mm clamping range before installation, as oversizing or undersizing will compromise the seal. Once closed, the ear cannot be reopened — plan the assembly sequence accordingly.
