The OCCUNOMIX pc-vvfr-nb is a flame resistant phase change cooling vest designed for workers in high-heat environments where arc flash hazards are present. Built from cotton with a hook and loop strap closure and adjustable mid section and shoulders, this vest delivers 2 to 3 hours of cooling per charge. The phase change packs are set at 58 degrees F, keeping the wearer's core temperature manageable during sustained outdoor or industrial work. The arc rating is ATPV 7.2 cal/cm2, meeting NFPA 70E Category 1 requirements. Electricians, utility workers, and industrial technicians working in arc-rated PPE programs are the primary installers and end users of this vest.
This vest is suited for residential and commercial electrical work, utility maintenance, and industrial environments where both heat stress and arc flash exposure are concerns. The one-size-fits-most design with adjustable mid section and shoulder straps allows it to fit over or under other PPE layers depending on site requirements. It is appropriate for use in Category 1 arc flash environments as defined by NFPA 70E, making it a practical cooling solution for energized electrical work during warm weather conditions.
Designed for use in NFPA 70E Category 1 arc flash environments as a flame resistant, phase change cooling vest for trade and industrial workers.
This vest is donned and removed by the worker and does not require tool-based installation. Ensure cooling packs are fully charged before use and follow the manufacturer recharge instructions for the phase change material. When used as part of an arc flash PPE ensemble, verify that the full system arc rating meets or exceeds the incident energy at the work location per NFPA 70E requirements. Do not use damaged or leaking cooling packs.
