The OATEY COMPANY 42097 is a 2-inch PVC solvent weld shower drain designed for installation in preformed shower stall bases. The drain body accepts 2-inch Schedule 40 DWV pipe via solvent weld, creating a permanent, watertight connection at the drain base. A fiber rubber washer seals the drain to the shower pan, eliminating the need for additional sealants at that joint. The drain top accommodates a 4.25-inch universal Snap-Tite strainer, and the included strainer is stainless steel. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers during new construction or shower pan replacement projects.

This drain is intended for residential and light commercial shower stall applications where a preformed acrylic, fiberglass, or similar prefabricated shower base is in use.
