Product Description

The OATEY COMPANY 39016 is a Sure Vent air admittance valve (AAV) designed for use in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) plumbing systems. It uses advanced sealing technology to allow air into the drain system when negative pressure develops, preventing siphoning of trap seals without requiring a traditional open vent through the roof. The 39016 solvent welds to 1-1/2 inch or 2 inch PVC pipe using the supplied adapter and also threads into a 2 inch female iron pipe (FIP) adapter. It meets NSF Standard 14, ASSE 1050, and ASSE/ANSI 1051 compliance requirements for plastic DWV components, and exceeds the ASSE 1050/51 positive pressure rating threshold.

This AAV is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where extending a vent stack through the roof is impractical or not permitted by the authority having jurisdiction. Common install scenarios include island sinks, remodeled bathrooms, basement fixtures, and other locations where a conventional vent tie-in is difficult to run. Installation Notes
