The OATEY COMPANY 33953 is a 1/2 inch insulating pipe clamp designed to secure water supply lines running through wall and floor framing. Constructed from durable polypropylene, this clamp eliminates the need to notch or wrap pipe when routing through framing members. The insulating design reduces contact-borne water line noise and vibration, making it well suited for residential rough-in work. Each package contains 6 clamps, providing enough hardware for a single supply run or multiple fixture connections in a typical framing bay. Licensed plumbers and experienced DIYers use these clamps during rough-in stages to keep lines neat, quiet, and code-acceptable.
These clamps are intended for 1/2 inch water supply lines routed through wood or metal framing in residential and light commercial construction. They are commonly installed during new construction or remodel rough-in when copper, CPVC, or PEX lines pass through studs, joists, or plates. The polypropylene body prevents galvanic corrosion between the clamp and pipe, which is particularly important in mixed-metal plumbing systems. The pack-of-6 quantity is sized for standard rough-in tasks where multiple support points are needed along a single run.
Designed as an OEM-style support clamp for 1/2 inch water supply lines in residential and light commercial framing applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified mechanical contractors during rough-in framing stages. Shut off the water supply before making any final pipe connections in the run. Clamps should be fastened to framing members per local plumbing code spacing requirements, which typically follow IPC guidelines for support intervals. Do not overtighten fasteners through the clamp body, as polypropylene can crack under excessive compression.
