The OATEY COMPANY 32192 is a clear, medium-bodied, single-step PVC solvent cement designed for joining PVC pipe and fittings without a separate primer on non-pressure DWV applications where local code permits. This self-priming formula eliminates the primer step on qualifying jobs, reducing labor time on drain, waste, and vent rough-ins. It is rated for PVC fittings up to 4 inches on pressure applications and up to 6 inches with interference fit on non-pressure applications. Recommended application temperature ranges from 40 degrees F to 110 degrees F. The low-VOC formula meets SCAQMD Rule 1168/316A and BAAQMD Method 40 requirements, making it compliant for use in air-quality-regulated regions. It also meets ASTM D2564.
This cement is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations involving PVC DWV systems, including drain lines, waste stacks, and vent piping. Plumbers and pipefitters working in areas governed by strict VOC regulations will find this product meets regional air-quality standards without sacrificing bond performance. The single-step, self-priming design is especially practical on high-volume DWV rough-in work where separate primer application would extend cycle time. Confirm with local code whether primer-free installation is permitted before proceeding.
Designed for use with PVC pipe and fittings on non-pressure DWV applications up to 6 inches with interference fit, and on PVC pressure fittings up to 4 inches. Primer-free use is limited to non-pressure DWV applications and only where local code permits.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC) where adopted. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into any existing piping. Always verify with the local authority having jurisdiction whether primer-free cementing is approved before proceeding without primer. Work in a well-ventilated area and follow all safety data sheet guidance when handling solvent cement.
