The OATEY COMPANY 31013 is a clear, regular-body PVC pipe cement formulated for solvent-welding PVC pipe and fittings in a range of trade applications. At 8 oz, this can is sized for field and service work where a full quart is unnecessary. The cement meets and exceeds ASTM D-2564 performance standards and carries NSF certification, making it suitable for potable-water, drain-waste-vent, gas, and electrical conduit systems. It is applied by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and electricians working with Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC pipe and fittings.
This cement is intended for residential and commercial PVC piping installations including DWV drain lines, pressure water supply lines, gas distribution piping, and electrical conduit runs. It handles PVC pipe fittings up to 4 inches on Schedule 40 systems and up to 2 inches on Schedule 80 systems. The regular-body viscosity suits standard interference-fit joints where a heavy-body formula is not required. Its clear finish leaves joints visually clean after assembly.
Designed for use on PVC pipe and fittings in Schedule 40 systems up to 4 inches and Schedule 80 systems up to 2 inches, including DWV, gas distribution, and electrical conduit applications.
PVC solvent cement joints are installed by licensed plumbers and electricians following IPC and NEC guidelines as applicable. Clean and dry all mating surfaces before applying cement, and use a PVC primer where required by local code prior to cementing. Apply cement to both the pipe end and fitting socket, assemble immediately with a quarter-turn, and hold briefly to prevent push-back. Work in a well-ventilated area and avoid open flames — solvent cement is flammable during application.
