The OATEY 30011 is a No. 5 paste flux formulated for soldering copper and other metals in plumbing and HVAC applications. It combines a strong cleaning agent with fluxing action, allowing it to clean surface oxidation and prepare the joint in a single step. The 1.7 oz container is a standard trade size suited for field and shop use. The formula is 100 percent lead free, meeting requirements for potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians working with sweat fittings, tubing, and similar joints will find this a reliable general-purpose flux for most common base metals.
This flux is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, refrigeration tubing, and HVAC copper piping applications. It is effective on copper, brass, and similar metals. It is not suitable for use on aluminum, magnesium, or stainless steel. The 1.7 oz jar size is well matched to service calls and small installation jobs where a compact, portable container is preferred.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose paste flux for copper and brass soldering in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC piping systems. Not compatible with aluminum, magnesium, or stainless steel.
Apply flux to clean, dry tubing and fitting surfaces immediately before soldering. Plumbers and HVAC technicians should shut off water supply and depressurize or drain the system before making sweat connections. Work in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code where required. Remove residual flux from the completed joint after soldering to prevent long-term corrosion.
