The OATEY 14030 is a purple-tinted PVC primer formulated to prepare PVC and CPVC pipe and fittings for solvent cementing. Applied before the solvent cement step, it penetrates and softens the pipe surface to allow the cement to form a proper fusion bond. The purple dye provides a visible inspection indicator, confirming that primer was applied as required by many local plumbing codes. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this product in new construction and repair work on pressure and drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems.

This primer is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications where PVC or CPVC pipe joints must meet code-required priming before cementing. Installation Notes
