The NU-CALGON 4293-04-01 00:00:00 is a double-expanding spray foam sealant packaged in a 12 ounce pressurized can. It dispenses as a liquid foam that expands on contact, then cures to form a rigid, airtight seal. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and insulation contractors use this product to seal gaps, penetrations, and voids around pipes, conduit, ductwork, and mechanical equipment. The double-expanding formula fills irregular cavities more thoroughly than single-expanding foam, reducing air infiltration and improving thermal performance at service penetrations. The 12 ounce can size is well suited to service calls and finish work where a full-size canister is impractical.
This foam sealant is used in both residential and light commercial applications. Typical installation scenarios include sealing pipe and conduit penetrations through walls, floors, and ceilings; filling gaps around line sets and refrigerant piping exits; and closing off air bypass paths in duct chases and mechanical closets. It is appropriate for use on wood, masonry, metal, and most rigid substrates encountered in mechanical system rough-in and service work.
Designed for use as a general-purpose expanding foam sealant at mechanical system penetrations in residential and light commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations.
Apply with appropriate personal protective equipment including gloves and eye protection, as uncured foam bonds aggressively to skin and surfaces. Shake the can thoroughly before use and apply in thin passes, allowing the foam to expand fully between applications to avoid overfilling cavities. Cured foam can be trimmed with a utility knife once fully set. Consult local building and mechanical codes for requirements regarding firestopping at rated assemblies, as standard expanding foam is not a listed firestop material and a code-compliant firestop system may be required at fire-rated wall and floor penetrations.
