The NTE931 from NTE Electronics is a 3-terminal fixed positive voltage regulator in a TO3 package designed to drive loads of up to 3A. However, if the distance from the filter capacitor exceeds four inches, it's recommended to add a one microfarad solid tantalum capacitor on the input.
