The NSI INDUSTRIES SC-500 is a standard barrel tinned copper compression splice rated for conductors up to 500 MCM. Manufactured from high-conductivity copper tubing, the connector is tin-plated to resist corrosion in demanding electrical environments. The SC-500 is die-indexed and color-coded for fast, accurate identification during installation. It is rated for use up to 35 kV when properly installed, making it suitable for medium-voltage splicing applications. Licensed electricians and utility linemen working on power distribution systems are the primary installers of this connector type.
The SC-500 is used in residential service entrance work, commercial power distribution, and utility splicing applications where a reliable, low-resistance conductor connection is required. The standard barrel design accommodates 500 MCM copper conductors. Die indexing ensures compatibility with standard compression tooling and reduces the risk of improper crimps in the field.
Designed as an OEM-style compression splice for use with 500 MCM copper conductors in medium-voltage electrical installations up to 35 kV.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and verify the absence of voltage on all conductors before beginning the splice. Use only the manufacturer-specified or die-indexed compression tool to ensure a proper crimp. Improper tooling or die selection can result in a failed connection and potential hazard.
