The NSI INDUSTRIES pt750 is a bi-metallic pin terminal designed to terminate 750 kcmil aluminum conductors into copper-accepting equipment lugs and bus connections. The barrel is constructed from aluminum to accept the aluminum conductor, while the tin-plated copper pin interfaces with the downstream copper termination point, eliminating galvanic compatibility concerns common in mixed-metal installations. The pin measures 0.787 inches in diameter and 2.003 inches in length. The barrel is 3.015 inches long with a 1.01-inch inner diameter and 1.5-inch outer diameter. Overall assembled length is 5 inches. Rated for 600 VAC at 90 degrees C, this terminal is installed by licensed electricians on high-capacity feeder circuits.
This terminal is suited for commercial and industrial electrical installations where large aluminum feeder conductors must connect to switchgear, panelboards, transformers, or motor control centers with copper-rated termination points. The PT Series design is commonly used in new construction and retrofit projects where 750 kcmil aluminum service entrance or feeder conductors are run to reduce material cost without sacrificing ampacity. The yellow color code provides quick visual identification of conductor size during inspection and maintenance.
Designed for use with 750 kcmil aluminum conductors terminating into copper-rated lugs, bus bars, or equipment terminals. Suitable for single-conductor, single-pole applications as noted in the PT Series product specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 110 termination requirements and equipment manufacturer torque specifications for the receiving lug. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the overcurrent protective device before installation. Use a calibrated compression tool rated for the terminal series and conductor size to ensure a gas-tight crimp on the aluminum conductor. Do not use this terminal to directly join two conductors end to end; it is designed solely as a pin-type termination interface.
